John's loss is Salman's gain

Sunday, 17 January 2010
Blame it on the Bollywood hottest hunk John's times or Team India's swashbuckling skipper Mahendra Sigh Dhoni, apparently Rs. 30 crore is riding on Dhawan's 'Hook Ya Crook'.

The climax of the film is still remaining to be shot on 20 minutes featuring a cricket match between India and South Africa to be canned.

According to sources the climax was to be done last year, but recession bled the film's production house to the tune of Rs. 100 crore on various other projects, and the with one thing or the other.....the climax of the film 'Hook Ya Crook' got put off.

Now, when everything seems was getting back on the line, David Dhawan is not getting Dhoni's dates as the country's skipper is unavailable for the time being.

On the other hand, John's loss is certainely Salman's gain. Dhawan who could not help his 'Hook Ya Crook' in anyway, has put aside his film and has picked up a long delayed sequel to his hit film 'Partner' featuring Salman Khan and Govinda again in the lead.

Big B follows Salman Khan’s steps

Monday, 11 January 2010
Amitabh Bachchan is all geard up to promote his upcoming release Teen Patti. And if sources are to be believed, he will be doing so on the reality show ‘Dance India Dance’. Salman Khan too was recently invited on the show whose shooting is going to be wrapped up by Jan 12.

“Bachchan has been invited on the show so that 18 finalists left can seek his blessings and go ahead with the competition. Amitabh will talk about Teen Patti and thus, will introduce his film to every household watching television.”

Khabroo goes on, “The shooting process the episode is not yet done but will telecast on 29th of this month. It will be great fun when Big B with his different style will give some dancing tips to the contestants.

“Big B is likely to put on his dancing shoes and shake legs with Mithun Chakrobarthy,” source adds

Salman Khan ignores Katrina Kaif ?

Sunday, 10 January 2010
Well rumour or truly a fact we don’t know but Salman seems to be too loyal to his fans. Be it blogging or giving interviews.

Sallu was giving interviews for his upcoming film Veer in Mumbai’s Mehboob Studios, and Katrina was in the same location, shooting for an ad. When she got a break, she went to Salman and said ‘Hi’, but Salman gave her a cold shoulder.

Well we hope everything is fine between Sallu and Katrina or it’s the usual ups and downs that every couple goes through.

Salman Khan amazed at hype of Zarine's look

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjHqPDpUNlcs9RbNHHL12l0BzzdrBFUbXSVq8oWKtRp7vvOtgpM3hjqGc_NYQmuO-rhL9DaXO8HdhxM3xzEbTRoPHfN_jNkeb3t8B_GfESCcvqrqvv6Ul0iei9tphyphenhyphenlwoYgWPw1VZn_yI/s400/zarine_katrina1.jpg
Bollywood star Salman Khan says he is amazed at the hype over the reported similarities between his Veer co-star Zarine and actress Katrina Kaif insisting that if there were any he would have been the first to notice.

The actor added he does not see any resemblance between the two except the fair skin and sharp nose.

"I am amazed at the hype over the reported similarities. I don't see any resemblance except the fair skin and sharp nose. God has never made two people look alike. If there was any resemblance, I should have noticed it first," Salman told PTI.

He said producers of the film, which he has scripted, wanted a new face for the role of the Rajput princess.

"The presence of an established actress would have looked like as if the actress is playing the role. We wanted a yesteryear look and hence the need for a fresh face," Salman, who met Zarine at Subhash Ghai's sets of Yuvraj, said.

Apart from acting and scripting Veer, Salman was actively involved in the creative process of the movie.

"The intense discussion and fights on the sets between me and director Anil Sharma has resulted into a good product. We have not followed the regular format for a period drama and tried to give it a very contemporary look with elements of emotions, drama, comedy and romance. It should not look like period films are very serious," he said.

Salman said he does not feel the pressure of the huge box office success of Aamir Khan starrer 3 Idiots to assert him in the number race.

"If my film is good, it will work with the audience. There is no question of pressure at all. Just because I have written the film does not mean that it is good. Audience has to like it," he said.

To a question on why he chose to write a period film rather than a contemporary one, Salman said, "It is because the story is about being true to your word, enemity, love and
how such sentiments are carried on by the next generation too."

"Pindaris were not barbarians as they were made out to be. All they wanted is Azadi," he said.

Salman admitted that Veer is over-budget. "Audiences are not concerned about the budget. All they want is a good entertaining film. The movie is larger than life. I am not making a film to depress people," he said.

Speaking about why his last two films Main Aur Mrs Khanna and London Dreams could not sustain the positive impact of Wanted at the box office, Salman said, London Dreams was 25 to 30 minutes longer.

"It was an amazing film but the length should have been 2 hour 20 minute. The film's length was trimmed, five days after its release. The length has to be kept as long as it is interesting. Even 3 Idiots is 2 hour 50 minutes but it is an interesting film," he said.

"I was bored seeing my own film then how do you keep the audience hooked," he asked.

Salman said Mithun Chakraborty's children convinced him to play the his father's role in Veer as he was not initially interested because the role required him to be physically fit and have a toned body.

"All three children address him Mithun and they share an amazing relationship. The same emotions and bond has been translated on screen. Besides, he always remembers the moral support my father gave him when he was struggler," he said.

Salman said he has not given an thought to direction. "I would not like to direct a film as of now," he said.

Salman to auction off his self-made Veer hand-paintings

Tuesday, 5 January 2010

Everyone knows that Salman Khan paints and gifts his creations away but few know that he has an unusual knack of painting with his fingers, minus any brushes. He often does this on the sets of his films too.

While shooting Veer, whenever there was a break to light the set or change costume, Sallu would get busy with his colours and canvas. He completed five paintings of Ganesh and Christianity in this way.

Veer producer Vijay Galani says, "Yes, I have watched Salman paint with his fingers and he has helped us a lot painting sets of Veer. He's very fast and finishes the painting in a few hours. We haven't decided as yet what to do with his paintings. I am discussing with Salman whether we could auction them or not."

Salman Khan takes sweet revenge

Wednesday, 16 December 2009
Salman Khan is well-known for his generosity but not many people know that his much-awaited forthcoming venture ‘Veer’ was offered to his ladylove Katrina Kaif before it went to the kitty of newcomer Zarine Khan. Now if sources are to be believed, the pretty new face Zarine had been an assistant to Katrina Kaif for quite a long time.

Zarine has been paired opposite Salman and plays the pivotal role of Princess Yashodhara. Reliable source reveal, “Yes, Zarine was offered the role after Katrina refused, due to date problems. Zarine had been an assistant to Kats for a while and now she is being launched by Salman.”

Now that’s what you call taking sweet revenge from Kats. What do you say Salman? And wonder what Katrina too has to say on that?

Hanief, we decided to drop the Lion fight mainly coz of animal rights and there’s a lot of stress and a sad sight to see the animal in captivity. They are usually drugged which is cruel and I don’t want anybody to get publicity on my name. We have ended up doing a comic act instead.

Halima my dear, you follow fashion designers, I follow my own personality. Am glad you feel this way. Now fashion to me is nothing. I used to have a pair of torn wrangler jeans and I used to keep wearing it because I didn’t have more. Now I have lots of jeans but I stick to my boots because we live in India. As long as you are physically fit, anything you wear will look good on you. And teenagers today wear very loose fitting clothes so much so that parents ask them to pull up their pants! Thanks Sweetheart

Alexa – you are talking to me? I’m not on Facebook neither am in on Twitter or msn so whoever you are talking to there is not me. So my dear Tunisian fan, well, you are talking to both of us..God Bless

Thank you Bagarh

Uncle Tom: The other way to do it is to listen to them, hear what they have to say and put it on the blog. Maybe they could be right, just maybe and it will only improve us.

Salman – I didn’t cast Ashutosh coz Aamir isn’t acting in it If I was producing it, rest assured I would.

Umesh , Salman and all you guys who couldn’t download the tune abroad, have asked the producers to check with hungama and see if we can manage. If its practical, it will be done.

Susendu –don’t be silly, just buy a mobile. You making the lives of 800 guys miserable. For the kind of work you do, you’ll probably need a blackberry.

Mashain – sorry missed your name, thanks buddy

Sameer – Cut carbs, no red meat, if you’re a vegetarian , eat egg whites, soya bean, just a bowl of rice. Work out hard, its simple. 80% is your food and 20% your workout.

Salman Khan Kick-ing up a storm!

Wednesday, 9 December 2009

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala who is making ‘Kick’, the remake of a Telugu film starring Ravi Teja and directed by Surender Reddy, has got ‘Ghajini’ director A. R. Murugadoss to direct it.

The film stars Salman Khan and the lead heroine will be Deepika Padukone. She was asked to do the role when she was working on ‘Housefull’ with Sajid Nadiadwala. Nadiadwala was a little uncertain about approaching her as he felt she might have some issues working with Salman, as she is more inclined towards the Shah Rukh Khan-Farah Khan-Karan Johar’s group. However, she told him that she has no qualms about working with Salman.

Nadiadwala got Murugadoss to do the film, as he doesn’t think South Indian directors should be doing Hindi remakes. They are now thinking of ways to make the action scenes in ‘Kick’ look different from the ones in ‘Wanted 2’. The scenes will be shot in Tokyo.

The scenes will be similar to the kind in ‘Ghajini’ and will have Salman doing kickboxing and martial arts. Scriptwriter Abhijat Joshi (who scripted ‘Munnabhai’) is being brought in from the US to script the Hindi version of Kick. He will be in India soon for the release of ‘3 Idiots’, which is co-written by him.

Kareena, Salman appear as a jodi in festive jewellery ads

Monday, 7 December 2009

Though their film Main Aurr Mrs Khanna did not ignite the box-office, Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor will be seen together as a couple in a series of commercials for a jewellery collection. The stars are endorsing the brand that caters to both men and women.

Of late, Bebo has featured in several ads with beau Saif Ali Khan, but for this endorsement, she has the other Khan for company. Sallu and Bebo will appear as a lovey-dovey couple celebrating festive occasions like Christmas and New Year with the sparklers.

Brand new cut
A series of five commercials were shot at Mehboob Studios before Bebo took off for Australia for the shoot of Karan Johar's desi production of Stepmom. Salman, who is now sporting short hair, had his long tresses chopped on the sets itself.

Says a source, "When Salman arrived for the shoot, he had long hair but while getting ready in the vanity van, he had his stylist come along. He stepped out to face the camera in a brand new cut."
The ad has been directed by Marlon Rodrigues. The first of the ads highlighting Christmas and New Year goes on air this weekend.

Salman Khan could marry 'very soon'

Sunday, 6 December 2009

Finally, it appears Salman Khan has made up his mind to put a decisive end to his much enjoyed bachelorhood. The swashbuckling actor who’ll turn 44 this December 27 and is still single often gets cornered by the mediapersons about questions relating to his marriage.

During his visit to Indore on Friday, Salman was once again at the receiving end of a similar question when a reporter asked him frankly when he plans to marry.

“Very soon,” Salman quipped, beaming a mischievous smile.

But how soon will this ‘very soon’ be, Salman refused to elaborate.

It’s hard to ascertain whether Salman’s remark was serious or just made in jest. Whatever the case, we think it’s high time he tied the marital knot. But the question that begs to be asked is: Is the bride-to-be ready?

Katrina Kaif avoiding Salman Khan on New Year

Wednesday, 2 December 2009

It seems Salman Khan will have to spend this New Year's eve without girlfriend Katrina Kaif. No, there is no trouble in paradise - as Kaif recently went on spiritual trip with Khan's sister.

Katrina wants to bring in 2010 with her family on London, which is why she will fly out after celerbating Sallu's birthday. The Wanted hero turns 44 on December 27, 2009.

Now Katrina might be doing her bit by keeping Khan happy on his birthday, we wonder how Sallu plans to spend New Year's bash in her absence.

Salman prefers Asin over Katrina

Monday, 30 November 2009

Ever since their coming together in the film LONDON DREAMS, Asin and Salman Khan's chemistry has been under the public scanner. Now, after their much talked about bonding during the shoot of the film, the latest buzz is that the equation between the two has progressed to the next level.

According to the reliable sources, "Salman and Asin have hit it big on the personal front. Both the actors have become thick friends post the shoot of LONDON DREAMS. Now, Salman seems to be taking more interest in Asin than Katrina and it seems the new friendship between the two is growing by the day."

Though, earlier it was reported that Ajay Devgan is Asin's good friend, but now it seems the actress has the backing of the muscular Khan as far as her personal life is concerned. Well, for the moment Katrina surely has a new competitor to deal with.

Katrina to do a cameo on Salman’s behest

Producer Ravi Chopra is all set to launch his two sons in his upcoming film “Kohinoor”. The movie marks the debut of his son Abhay as the director and Kapil as an actor.

Till now, the film wasn’t able to roll as there was no heroine.Ravi Chopra was dead sure that Priyanka Chopra would give her nod. After all she is his family friend Ashok Chopra’s daughter. But Priyanka wasn’t keen on doing the film and hence refused politely.

Post that Ravi got busy searching for a heroine. He then approached Genelia, who readily agreed to do the film.Buzz is that Salman has promised Ravi Chopra that he will make a significant appearance in the film. Not only his appearance, he has even assured Ravi of Katrina doing a cameo in the film, which will also be quite significant.

Salman still seems to rule Katrina’s moves!

Salman Khan to turn film producer soon

Sunday, 22 November 2009
it seems Salman Khan is set to do what Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have perfected over the years. The buzz goes that he now wants to get into film production. He now wants to be an active partner in the family- owned Sohail Khan Productions, which has churned out many flops of late.

It's believed that Salman has also asked his scriptwriter father Salim Khan to provide inputs to help turn the tide in the company's favour.

Reports are rife that Salman's latest business move comes after a tiff with his brother Sohail during the release of Main Aurr Mrs Khanna, which was a disaster at the box office despite releasing during Diwali.

At that time, too, Salman was apparently not very happy with the way the movie was released and its promotional strategies. Sohail's other production, Kissan, also bombed.

So now, Sallu wants to be more involved with the projects and key decisions of the company.

It will be interesting to see if Salman manages to deliver hits as a producer - as has been done by SRK (Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om) and Aamir (Lagaan and Taare Zameen Par).

Sources say if Salman takes up the reins, it will be easier to get bigger stars and financiers to work for his firm.

Salman has worked in many of the hits by Sohail Khan Productions such as Partner and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya.

But Main Aur Mrs Khanna has been a big disappointment for Salman despite the fact that the film starred Kareena Kapoor and was considered a box office winner.

Now, it remains to be seen if Salman's involvement can turn the fortunes of the Khan daan - owned company.

I will not apologise to Salman anymore: Vivek Oberoi

There won't be any more apologies from Vivek Oberoi to Salman Khan. The actor says he's done saying sorry to Sallu. Not just that but Oberoi also claims that should he fight, he will hold his ground against Khan.

Recently, Vivek was a guest On The Couch With Koel. Apart from talking about his work and a new outlook towards life, he also made remarks on Salman and claimed it was wrong to assume that in a scenario of a fistfight, the brawny man would win!

A source reveals that Vivek was extremely jovial on the show. "He seemed to have left his old personality behind and has taken on a positive outlook towards life. He laughed off most of his controversies but when the conversation veered towards Salman, he didn't mince any words."

Here are excerpts from the chat that airs on November 28 on Headlines Today. Koel: I watched your recent interview with Farah and in context to Salman you said, 'hum mard ki tarah ek dosare ko mar sakte hai, mere bhi do haath hai... and all this. If you actually got into a fisticuffs with him, who would win?
Vivek: Umm...I really don't know, I mean it kinda sounds like the expected answer would be obviously the brawn man. But umm... it doesn't really work that way. I mean, I've had my share of fights and I think I can hold my own. I don't think it's about a size of a bicep, it's the intent and speed of a fist hitting a vital point that determines a fight.

Koel (interrupting): Now don't say anything you are going to regret again.
Vivek: No no no... I think that's what determines a fight. I don't know if you've ever seen a street fight or if you've ever seen a brawl... it's not really about how big the guy is.

Koel: Please do invite me if you do decide to have this challenge. I want front row seats to this fight.
Vivek: You and half the world... No

Koel: Now, you've done your share of apologising but of course those apologies haven't really been accepted by Salman. He still... the only person that he talks badly about let's say... is you. Like he does say you are an idiot. I'm sorry to say this but he does say this, as you are aware of it.
Vivek: I mean well in the current context, I take that as a compliment, you know '3 Idiots', I would like be the fourth.

Koel: Nicely said.
Vivek: Raju Hirani, if you're watching...

Koel: So are you done with apologising?
Vivek: Ya I'm done.

Koel: So that phase of your life is over?
Vivek: Ya. I think I've squared all of that up, I've finished all the things I started. I've decided not to talk badly about anybody. If somebody else wants to continue talking badly about whoever else including me, then they can. I mean those are choices everybody makes.

Now, Deepika desires Salman Khan!

Thursday, 5 November 2009
Bollywood's glam girl Deepika Padukone might not talk sweet about Katrina Kaif but when it comes to Kat's beau Salman Khan, she has all praise.

"I feel Salman is a very honest person. He is genuine about what he feels and what I have read and known about him, he seems to be very caring," DNA quoted Deepika as saying.

Basking in the glory of 'Love Aaj Kal' success, Deepika Padukone expresses her desire to work with the macho, Salman.

"I'm so new in the industry and I have been very lucky to have got the opportunity to work with the biggest names in the industry. I have worked with SRK, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan and now I would like to work with Salman," said the actress.

We wonder how Ranbir Kapoor will take this. After all his girlfriend, Deepika Padukone had a hand in calling Ranbir and Katrina's friendship a quit when the two started bonding well on the sets of Raj Kumar Santoshi's 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.

Salman Khan warns Hrithik on his married life

Tuesday, 3 November 2009
Hrithik Roshan had invited Salman Khan for Suzanne Roshan’s birthday party but Salman gave it a miss to avoid bumping into Shahrukh Khan who along with his wife attended the party. Salman took the pain of clarifying the reason for his absence to Hrithik. He reasoned that since he needed to walk the ramp in a Fashion Week in New Delhi on the same day he could not attend the party.

Salman didn’t just stop with that and assumed the role of a family advisor to Hrithik. He said that he took Hrithik as his younger brother and loved him very much. He also said that he was aware of somebody called Barbara Mori.Salman warned Hrithik that if he didn’t take care of his wife and family then he would actually stop talking to him.

Well, it seems like Salman Khan is more bothered about Hrithik’s married life than tying the knot in his own personal life. The elder brotherly love seems to have come alive!

Don't compare Salman with Ranbir: Katrina

Monday, 26 October 2009
Bollywood actor Katrina Kaif thinks comedy is a serious genre for actors to attempt. CNN-IBN caught up with the actress who stars with Ranbir Kapoor in Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani a romantic comedy and got her talking about co-star Ranbir, comedy and much more.

Salmania on rampage

Main Aur Mrs Khanna may have been taken off the theatres, but Salmania is still unabated. The star who had a series of flop films last year is still very much Wanted by his fans. This was clear at Nehru Stadium in Indore on Sunday.

Salman Khan was due to play a cricket match held by a social organization. The stadium was packed with Salman’s fans. The actor reportedly arrived five hours late at the match venue. Some of the fans lost their patience, broke off the cordon and ran to the play ground to meet Salman.

Sensing a security threat, the organizers whisked the actor away and the match was cancelled.

This apparently angered the whole lot of fans who had waited for hours to see their favourite star. The frenzied fans then went on rampage, uprooted the chairs and hurled them to the play ground.

Before the situation could further go out of hand, the police swung into action and resorted to mild lathi-charge to scare away the rampaging mob.

The event was primarily held to promote Salman’s upcoming film London Dreams which is set to release this Friday.

Salman particularly enjoys a great fan following in Indore because the city is his birthplace.
