Manyata charms Sanjay Dutt’s fans

Thursday, 5 November 2009
Recently, Sanjay Dutt’s wife Manyata kept a special screening of All The Best for her husband’s German fans who had flown down to meet him. While Dutt met them for coffee in the afternoon at his residence, Mana kept them company at the screening as Dutt had to fly down to Delhi for some political work.Talking about her trip to Mumbai, Ingrid Zellner, one of the German fans says, “We’ve been in touch with Manyata through Facebook but never had the opportunity to meet up. A week ago, we were talking about All the Best and informed her that we could not watch the movie in Germany as it was not out. I added that we would have to wait for a long time to watch it. That’s when Manyata invited us to come down to Mumbai and promised a free trial for me and my other friends who are also big Sanjay Dutt fans.”

Ingrid adds that the time spent with Dutt and Manyata was special. “Since Sanjay was going to Delhi, he made sure that he met us for some time before leaving and invited us over to his house over some lovely coffee. Sanjay and Mana were so warm and welcoming. Manyata took good care of us. I have always believed Sanjay to be a man with a golden heart; this time I got to see it as well. We usually see most movies on DVD or on TV since Hindi films are not screened in all cinema halls. I have seen all of Sanjay’s films and put up all the information, reviews, photographs etc on the fan site I have made for him, (sanjay-dutt.info).”

That wasn’t all. His fans also gifted Dutt a specially made DVD called A Tribute to Sanjay Dutt with scenes from all his films, a picture greeting from his German fans and a personal gift for Manyata. Concludes Ingrid, “I am grateful to Manyata for making our dream come true.” Manyata says, “Sanju is a great host. He wanted me to be there to make sure that his guests were taken care of properly since he had to rush to Delhi for his political commitments. I was there representing him. It was wonderful meeting his fans.

Sanjay starts shooting for All the best

Monday, 18 May 2009
Sanjay Dutt has started shooting for buddy Ajay Devgan's production, All The Best Fun Begins, in Goa after a gap of two months. Says a unit member, "He has completed a few scenes and a song picturisation. Though buzz was that he was giving attitude and delaying the shoot, both Devgan and Dutt refuted the rumours." The film, directed by Rohit Shetty, also has Bipasha Basu, Fardeen Khan and Mugdha Godse in the cast.

Currently a song choreographed by Bosco-Ceasar is being filmed at Cancona beach. Rohit is happy that he has the entire cast for the song picturisation. "I couldn't stop smiling. The song is going to be bigger than Tha Kar Ke in Golmaal Returns," says Rohit. "Everyone was telling me that yeh film nahi banegi and will be delayed, but we have proved everyone wrong. It is fun working with Sanju, Ajay and Fardeen. We hang out together after pack up, work-out together in the gyms, play volley ball it's like a picnic."

Though Rohit knows Dutt personally, All The Best is his first film with the star. Says Rohit, "I had heard too many things about Sanju before I started shooting. Now I have learnt not to believe anything till you work with the actor yourself. People would say he comes late and cancels shootings but that's not true. He is sweet and humble. He's been in the industry for 30 years but doesn't flaunt his knowledge and yet he's intelligent you need to explain once and he's got it."

Rohit informs, "There was a scene where Sanju had to play the drums. We had two trainers from Mumbai for him. We thought he would practice. When he came on the sets, he told me if he could do it his own. Sanju shot in one take. And I sent the trainers to Mumbai!"
